Can A Dry Car Battery Be Revived Can A Dry Car Battery Be Revived?

Can a dry car battery be revived? - can a dry car battery be revived

I had a car battery in my garage for three years. It was good when I put into storage, but I checked and all cells are completely dry. Can I water and put it on a charger? Or is it a futile effort?

Are you sure that there are no leaks in it. The sulfuric acid not only evaporated. The garage is never cold, batteries left sitting for a long period gradually lose their charge. If the weak can freeze when the temperature is low. The freezing can lead to end the event and leave before the acid damage in general, parts of the internal battery. Overloading can bring water to a boil and left acid. Acid will be stronger. Usually when that happens, you just add distilled water to fill the cells and dilute acid properly. I have tried to add distilled water to each cell until the level slightly above the plate slowly recharge after 2 amps or less. If it is not loaded or heated or bubbles can almost immediately hear the battery is not good. Do not worry put into the acid, there is probably not the right way.

I Replace the battery in this state. It's crap shoot, but not difficult to test. You can try to fill cells with distilled water, or you can go to buy battery acid to supplement the cells. Normally works best filled with acid. Go into a charger very low net. I have one, that almost half of an amplifier is, then let it load, until you can see, it starts to boil. It was left in a stream. Then start testing each cell with a hydrometer. If all the cells, which do at least 3 / 4 of his good offices again.

1, the acid load and requires ... Water not only has a battery life .... But after only 3 years old ID to another brand without water go / maintaince battery at least $ 50 for 4 + year and may try to revive it, but I think its DOA

If it is dry, you need acid. Three years of battery ... even if you live again, probably will not last long. Water and the sender does not.
